Withstanding Voltage Tester Anti-Electric Shock Tips You Deserve!
The withstanding voltage tester is a universal high-voltage testing instrument, widely used for withstand voltage testing of electrical materials, bakelite electrical appliances, transformers, power cords, electricity meters, motors, power plugs and sockets, cables, etc., as well as for withstand voltage testing of various electronic and electrical products. With the establishment of relevant safety standards, the withstanding voltage tester has become an indispensable testing instrument for manufacturers of various radio factories, electronic products, etc.
During long-term operation, electrical appliances not only bear the rated working voltage but also withstand short-term overvoltage effects higher than the rated working voltage caused by operational processes (overvoltage values may be several times higher than the rated working voltage). Under these voltages, the internal structure of electrical insulating materials will change. When the overvoltage intensity reaches a certain value, it will cause insulation breakdown of the material, the appliance will not operate normally, and the operator may suffer electric shock, endangering personal safety.
Safe Operation Tips for Withstanding Voltage Tester to Prevent Electric Shock
1. Be sure to read the manual carefully before use, and follow the indicated steps in sequence.
2. The withstanding voltage tester and the tested object must be properly grounded; do not arbitrarily connect to tap water pipes.
3. The high voltage generated by the withstanding voltage tester is sufficient to cause personal injury or death. To prevent electric shock accidents, before using the withstanding voltage tester, wear insulating rubber gloves and place an insulating rubber mat under your feet, then proceed with relevant operations.
4. When the withstanding voltage tester is in testing state, do not touch the test leads, the tested object, the test probe, or the output terminals.
5. Do not short-circuit the test leads, remote control wires, and AC power wires of this withstanding voltage tester to avoid the instrument becoming live as a whole.
6. When testing one object and replacing it with another, the tester should be in the "Reset" state, with the "Test" indicator light off and the voltage reading at "0".
Special Note: During testing, do not touch the high-voltage test head with your hands to avoid accidents.
7. Once the power switch is turned off, if you need to turn it on again, wait a few seconds. Never continuously switch the power on and off to avoid erroneous actions that may damage the instrument.
8. When the withstanding voltage tester is tested with no load, the leakage current will show a reading.
