Darui Electric recommends for you
AC voltage detector is suitable for AC voltages with a rated frequency of 50Hz and voltage levels of 10KV, 35KV, 110KV, and 220KV, for direct contact voltage detection. It is an ideal safety tool for electrical operation and maintenance personnel in power generation, transmission, substation systems, and industrial and mining enterprises to verify the presence or absence of voltage. To improve its usage efficiency, there are many details to pay attention to during use. Let's discuss them in detail below.
To ensure the safety of personnel and equipment, the AC voltage detector and the generator should be stored in a dedicated location with dry and well-ventilated air.
1. When using a voltage detector for voltage detection operations on equipment, the relevant regulations of the Electric Power Safety Work Regulations should be followed.
2. The appropriate model of voltage detector should be selected based on the rated voltage of the electrical equipment being tested.
3. Personnel must hold the operating handle and fully extend the operating rod to the locked position before conducting voltage detection operations in accordance with the relevant regulations.
4. In the case of a complete power outage for voltage detection operations, the voltage detector should first be tested on a live part, then tested at the construction site, and then retested on the live part to ensure safety. The self-test button test of the voltage detector should not be used as a substitute for this operation. The self-test button test is for reference only. The electronic components of the voltage detector have a natural aging process. To ensure the safety and reliability of voltage detection operations and protect the safety of grid equipment and voltage detection operators, the normal service life of the voltage detector is set at three years from the date of factory shipment. If an extension of the service life is necessary under special circumstances, the consent of the manufacturer must be obtained, the relevant re-inspection procedures must be completed, and a certificate of consent for extension must be issued before continued use, but the service life shall not exceed five years.
5. To ensure the safety of personnel and equipment, the voltage detector must undergo regular preventive tests according to the period specified in the Electric Power Safety Work Regulations.
6. Before testing, a visual inspection should be conducted first. If obvious defects such as damage to the housing of the voltage indicator or cracks in the insulating rod are found, preventive testing should not be carried out, and the device should be promptly sent for repair or replacement.
