The luminescent bacteria comprehensive biotoxicity analyzer [Horde Instrument HED-DX] has high sensitivity in biological monitoring methods, capable of responding to the presence of pollutants within minutes, and can achieve continuous monitoring to promptly detect water quality pollution events. In addition, biological monitoring integrates the spatiotemporal changes of pollutants, taking into account the interaction between pollutants and environmental conditions, thus comprehensively reflecting the harm of pollutants to organisms and ecosystems.
The luminescent bacteria comprehensive biotoxicity analyzer performs dual functions: toxicity testing and determination of microbial contamination; it uses naturally occurring luminescent bacteria for toxicity testing. These bacteria emit light during normal metabolic processes. If placed in a toxic environment, their cellular respiration is affected, resulting in a decrease in luminescence. The HED-DX luminescence detector measures the luminescence of the bacteria before and after exposure to the toxic environment, and the degree of reduction in luminescence corresponds to the intensity of toxicity. The test results can be compared with standard toxic substances such as HgCl2 or zinc sulfate heptahydrate to determine the corresponding toxicity level.
