OBC Performance Test Bench
The On-Board Charger (OBC) is a power conversion device fixedly installed in electric vehicles to control and adjust the charging of the battery. It completes the conversion of alternating current into the direct current required by the battery and is a key component that determines the charging power and efficiency.
New energy vehicles have increasingly higher requirements for OBC power density. The normal operating efficiency of an OBC is generally around 95%. As the overall power performance of the product increases, heat generation becomes more significant. OBC power levels have increased from 3.3KW to 6.6KW, and then to 11KW and 22KW, but the size has not increased much, which also makes the power density of the entire module increasingly higher, making it more difficult for components to solve heat dissipation problems.
Thermal management tests that new energy vehicle OBCs need to meet include:
Environmental adaptation tests: low-temperature operation (storage) tests, high-temperature operation (storage) tests, thermal shock tests;
Cooling water simulation tests: -35℃ ~100℃ (temperature, pump pressure/flow adjustable).
JULABO equipment can provide fast and wide temperature changes to simulate the vehicle's cooling circuit and environmental impacts.
