The pressure swing adsorption process in the nitrogen generator involves two steps and stages:
1. Adsorption stage: Oxygen, water vapor, and carbon dioxide in the compressed air are adsorbed by the carbon molecular sieve column, while nitrogen is collected and stored.
2. Regeneration stage: The pressure in the carbon molecular sieve column is released to the atmosphere, and the carbon molecular sieve particles that have adsorbed oxygen, carbon dioxide, and water vapor release the adsorbed gases, preparing for the next adsorption cycle.
    The pressure swing adsorption process requires maintaining a stable temperature, which is usually close to the ambient temperature of the laboratory (20-25°C). The nitrogen produced by pressure swing adsorption technology has a high purity of up to 99.999%. The higher the purity, the more air is consumed during the production process.
    Both pressure swing adsorption and membrane separation technologies have their advantages and disadvantages for nitrogen production. The choice of method depends on the application and flow rate requirements. Some people claim that nitrogen membranes and carbon molecular sieves are consumables that need regular replacement, which is incorrect. If the user's oil and water removal filters are not effective, the separation efficiency of the carbon molecular sieve and nitrogen membrane will gradually decline over time.
