GB26860-2011 Safety Code for Electric Power Work (Part 3.6 and 3.7 of the Electrical Part for Power Plants and Substations define high and low voltage.
Low [voltage]
Voltage levels of 1000V and below in AC systems used for power distribution
High [voltage]
(1) Generally refers to voltage levels exceeding low voltage. (2) In specific cases, refers to voltage levels for power transmission in power systems.
Change History
The 1991 version of high and low voltage definitions: According to Article 1.4 of the industry standard DL 408—91 "Safety Code for Electric Power Work" of the People's Republic of China, electrical equipment is divided into high voltage and low voltage: High voltage: equipment with voltage to ground above 250V; Low voltage: equipment with voltage to ground at or below 250V.
So previously, high and low voltage were distinguished by 250V. High voltage: equipment with voltage to ground above 1000V; Low voltage: equipment with voltage to ground at or below 1000V.
