Precautions for Using High-Voltage Switch Characteristic Tester - Yangzhou Darui

Darui Electric recommends for you

The high-voltage switch characteristic tester is a common switch detection device, but during testing, certain methods and techniques are required. During the detection process of the switch characteristic tester, it is necessary to closely observe the operation of the equipment and strictly prevent the equipment from exceeding the limits of relevant parameters during operation. So what are the precautions for using the high-voltage switch characteristic tester?

      1. Wear insulating gloves

When using the high-voltage switch characteristic tester, most operators choose to operate with bare hands. Although the handle and circuit board of the tester have rubber insulating film, after long-term use or when the instrument is damaged, the possibility of electric leakage is extremely high. To prevent electric shock accidents, operators need to wear insulating gloves.

  2. The output line (ground wire) must not be connected to AC power

Since the switch characteristic tester has low power consumption and uses DC power, some operators often connect AC power to it for convenience of wiring, which is an extremely dangerous behavior. Because the outer shell of the switch characteristic tester has no anti-electric device, it is highly likely to suffer high-voltage electric shock.

      3. Reset before testing

Currently, most switch characteristic testers have an automatic reset function, but due to the maximum output current protection, they cannot automatically reset after strong current. This requires the tester to manually reset to ensure the normal use of the tester.

      4. Avoid light exposure and humidity

The switch characteristic tester contains a miniature photosensitive device. When in use, it is necessary to avoid direct contact with strong light. In addition, since the switch characteristic tester has a metal shell, the storage space should avoid humidity to prevent electric shock.

      5. Cut off the power supply

The high-voltage switch characteristic tester has a high-voltage input channel, so under normal circumstances, it will not be damaged after high voltage is connected, nor will it enter a self-protection state such as short circuit. Therefore, after work is completed, it is necessary to cut off the power supply in time to prevent high-voltage electricity from endangering personal safety. When repairing, not only should the voltage be reset, but also the power supply must be cut off.

The above are the precautions when using the high-voltage switch characteristic tester, mainly including: wearing insulating gloves during use, never connecting the output line of the tester to AC power, manually adjusting the reset if the automatic reset fails, avoiding light and humid environments, and finally, cutting off the power supply in time after work is completed.
