The Hosokawa Micron Powder Tester, Hosokawa POWDERTESTER®, uses the research theory of R.L. CARR to determine the flowability and floodability of dry solid powders. The Hosokawa POWDERTESTER® is the latest powder tester from Hosokawa Micron, utilizing the characteristics of powder states to test powder properties in different application fields. The Hosokawa Powder Comprehensive Characteristics Tester can measure 7 characteristics and 3 additional values of powders, which play a very important role in powder process design, quality management, and transportation and packaging processes.
Values of the seven characteristics:
a. Angle of repose b. Compressibility c. Angle of spatula
d. Cohesion e. Angle of collapse f. Dispersibility
g. Angle of difference
Three additional values:
a. Bulk density b. Tapped density c. Uniformity
Features:
1. The Hosokawa PT-S can quickly test the 7 characteristic values of powders as recommended by Dr. Carr. A CCD (optical device) camera is integrated into the tester, and the angle of repose and angle of spatula can be accurately measured and recorded in the computer through the optical camera.
2. User-friendly interface design allows users to easily master the testing methods of the equipment.
3. Easy to clean, with computer-connected control operation. The automatic angle of repose testing software of the Hosokawa PT-S complies with FDA CFR21 Part 11 (electronic signatures and records), ASTM, and USP Kawakita tapped density standards.
4. International icons with high practicality support measurement.
5. All powder characteristic tests can be accurately completed on this single device.
6. High testing accuracy, repeatable test results, simple operation, and fast analysis speed.
7. Computer data collection and automatic measurement and processing integration, eliminating unnecessary manual calculations.
8. Compact equipment design saves your laboratory space.
Applications: The instrument tests parameters including angle of repose, angle of collapse, plate angle, dispersibility, bulk density, tapped density, etc. Through the above test data, indicators such as angle of difference, compressibility, voidage, and uniformity are obtained. Additionally, parameters like flowability index and floodability index can be derived through the Carr index. Studying these characteristics is of great significance for powder processing, conveying, packaging, storage, and other aspects. The software guides the testing process, and it is widely used in the study of powder characteristics of powdered materials in industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food, and electronics. The Hosokawa Micron Powder Characteristics Tester has over 5,000 successful case studies and is widely recognized by university research and powder production enterprises.
