Polaris Smart Grid Online reports that the 220kV Yanbei A and B lines, part of the third channel for Southern Power Grid's power supply to Macau, have successfully passed the cable AC withstand voltage test, marking that the cable equipment of the project is basically ready for operation, with production expected to commence by the end of July.
The third channel project for Southern Power Grid's power supply to Macau consists of the 220kV Yandun Station in Zhuhai, the 220kV Bei'an Station in Macau, and a cable line approximately 10.4 kilometers long between the two stations. Among them, the Zhuhai section of the cable line is managed by CSG International in conjunction with Guangdong Power Grid Company for project construction management, with the EPC consortium composed of Guangdong Power Grid Energy Development Company and Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute responsible for construction. Currently, all works of the project have been completed.
The cable AC withstand voltage test is a necessary condition for the full-line operation of the project. To ensure the smooth operation of the project, under the guidance of China Southern Power Grid, CSG International, together with Guangdong Power Grid Company and Macau Electric Power Company, jointly studied and improved the test plan, conducted the cable AC withstand voltage test, and tested the bearing capacity of the line and auxiliary equipment by applying a voltage 1.7 times the rated voltage to determine whether the line meets the operational level. In the next stage, CSG International will continue to cooperate with Guangdong Power Grid Company and Macau Electric Power Company to ensure the smooth and timely operation of the entire project.
