Correct measurement steps for electronic insulation resistance tester:
1. Measurement steps
Turn on the power switch "ON/OFF", select the required voltage level. The default on startup is 500V. Select the desired voltage level, the corresponding indicator light will be on. Lightly press the high voltage "Start/Stop" key, the high voltage indicator light will be on. The stable value displayed on the LCD multiplied by 10 is the insulation resistance value of the tested object. When the insulation resistance value of the test sample exceeds the upper limit of the meter's range, the first digit on the display shows "1", and the last three digits go out. To turn off the high voltage, simply press the high voltage "Start/Stop" key again. To turn off the entire device, press the power "ON/OFF" key.
Note: During measurement, due to the absorption and polarization process of the test sample, the insulation value reading may gradually drift towards larger values or fluctuate up and down, which is a normal phenomenon.
2. Meaning of terminal symbols
When measuring insulation resistance, connect the line "L" to the conductive part of the tested object that is insulated from the ground, connect the ground "E" to the shell or grounded part of the tested object, and connect the shield "G" to the protective shielding part of the tested object or other parts not involved in the measurement, to eliminate errors caused by surface leakage. When measuring the insulation resistance between components of electrical products, you can connect the "L" and "E" terminals to any set of wire ends. For example, when measuring the interphase insulation of a generator, three groups.
Daily maintenance of electronic insulation resistance tester:
1. When storing and keeping this meter, pay attention to ambient temperature and humidity. It is advisable to place it in a dry and ventilated place, and protect it from dust, moisture, shock, acid, alkali, and corrosive gases.
2. When measuring objects that are normally live, you must first disconnect the power supply before measuring, otherwise it will endanger personal and equipment safety! There is a high DC voltage between terminals E and L of this meter when high voltage is turned on. During measurement, no part of the human body should touch them.
3. This meter is dual-use AC/DC. When not connected to AC power, the meter uses battery power. When connected to AC power, AC power is preferred.
4. When the upper left corner of the meter head displays "←", it indicates low battery voltage, and the battery should be replaced. If the meter is not used for a long time, remove all batteries to prevent corrosion of the meter.
