Automatic Transformer Comprehensive Tester is used for withstand voltage measurement experiments of high-voltage components and equipment (using AC/DC withstand voltage instruments), such as silicon stacks. The following are several points to note during the testing process of the Automatic Transformer Comprehensive Tester:
1. When using the Automatic Transformer Comprehensive Tester, note that the DC high-voltage output is negative voltage, while the ground is positive.
2. During testing with the Automatic Transformer Comprehensive Tester, the voltage should be increased slowly, and the charging current should be less than the set leakage current value until the specified test voltage is reached for testing. Because when testing capacitors, there is a charging process when voltage is applied across the capacitor. At this time, there is a charging current in the test circuit. When this current is greater than the set leakage current value, the withstand voltage tester will alarm, interrupting the test and making it impossible to proceed.
3. The method of fixed voltage, reset-start testing cannot be used. In the AC circuit, it is equivalent to a resistor in the DC circuit. Therefore, the safety tester generates a current in the AC circuit. When this current is greater than the set leakage current value, the withstand voltage tester will alarm, interrupting the test and making it impossible to proceed.
4. Before testing, the capacitive reactance of the capacitor should be calculated first, then the circuit current value at the test voltage should be calculated. Then adjust the leakage current preset value of the withstand voltage tester to be slightly greater than the circuit current value before testing.
5. Testing components (equipment) with large distributed capacitance, such as cables, should be treated the same as capacitor testing.
6. Ensure proper safety grounding and safety protection measures.
The Automatic Transformer Comprehensive Tester mainly tests the temperature of equipment, such as the normal working temperature of insulating materials. This temperature should be less than the maximum allowable temperature of the insulating material under the highest allowable working temperature of the equipment.
For example, if the insulating material temperature is tested at 100°C in a 25°C environment, and the insulating material can only operate safely below 130°C, this is crucial for defining the maximum allowable working temperature of the equipment. If the equipment is in a 50°C ambient temperature, then the insulating material converted to a 50°C ambient temperature test temperature should be 125°C, which meets the requirement of being less than 130°C, and the test passes.
